Propel is flavored water with electrolytes and vitamins B, C and E, made by Gatorade. With no sugar and no calories, it gives your body nothing to digest and no reason to release insulin. The sodium, about 270 mg per bottle, is a small bonus on long or active fasting days.
Sucralose and acesulfame potassium have no calories, and studies mostly show little or no insulin response in people, though sweet drinks keep cravings going for some. Propel Energy Boost adds about 100 mg of caffeine per 16.9 oz bottle, so count it toward your daily total. On fasts of 24 hours or more, one bottle covers only part of the sodium you lose; salt or a stronger electrolyte drink does more.
One or two bottles a day during the fast are fine. Plain water should still make up most of what you drink.
